I was wondering if there is any way of making this shoutbox work in any other pages besides the index.tpl? I have a forum mod which converts the header into a navigation bar and would like to have the shoutbox in the navigation bar, however the url linking to it shows empty if I put it in anything other than the index.tpl and go to a link other than the main index. At the moment the only way around this was to comment out the PHP linking to the shoutbox and hardcode the link the navigation source.

Yes, it is possible. Do the changes for index.php and index_body.tpl also in other pages and templates. Almost every page has the possibillity for it.
