In my board there are several moderators but I want only one of them to have a limited access to admin functions.

I'm trying Junior mod by nivisec but (imho) has some lacks. One of them is its admin panel which loads the entire user list in one page (to set their junior permission) and having 7000 user ...you can imagine...

now I've seen the trick described here:

so maybe could restrict the permissions to that rank user using ModCP.

Then I would give this moderator (rank) a different color from mine (I'm the admin) and from normal moderators...

I want to have in my index page a sort of [Administrators] [super mod] [moderators] in different colors

Yep
it will be a new part of the User Level Mod
currently it only adds 2 new levels lower than MOD
i will add a new level called something like Global Moderator (not this one cause there is a mod(ification) using it) who will have access to all forums permissions, like ADMIN (without AdminCP)
i plan to add this new part in 1 week, so next week-end

With this new level, you will be able to use the ModCP and replace level MOD with XX_MOD (i encrypt the variable name for prevent someone grabbing it lol)

if you cannot wait, you can try the Super Moderator Mod (on phpBB.com), add the part about new level "LESS_ADMIN" and use the ModCP about panel features, because Super Mod has several security issue
