It wrote:Max connections reatched, (0) please try again later

This is stopping me from accessing my forums or running db_update.php , I am using the preloaded mod, however this appears to be the troublesome mod so I decided to post here.

I had a problem setting up my forum due to not being able to read the language files or something, re-uploading them fixed this but I never managed to log-in, and now I get this error.

Anyway I can force the maxconnections to be increased?

the db_update.php MUST be run before applying the files / changes to the files

if you do not do it in that order, the files can not work, due to missing data in the DB

how-ever if you have access to a SQL managment tool like e.g. phpmyadmin, you can enter the SQL by hand, they are in the how-to
remember to add any prefix you may use

most users uses a prefix like phpbb_ , witch make the table users become phpbb_users

if this is not posible for you, you will need the original files, install into a subfolder and copy your config.php and the db_update.php into this subfolder

then call the "now original" forum like www.yoursite.com/new_sub_dir

login as admin and run the db_update.php from your browser
the database is then updated, and you can delete the sub_dir and use your forum once again

Sorry, it was my bad. I thought that I could just upload the pre-modded pack and it would all work, instead of uploading first phpBB THEN the pre-mod files. Would there be anyway to create the pre-modded pack so it does not require phpBB installed first? I am setting up brand new boards you see...

you did it almost rigth

but next time make shure to run the db_update.php file before replacing your files.

you will not need to "re-install" the original files.

the problem is, if I have added a new mod/extra feature, witch require a new DB entry, then your DB hasen't this entry, and therefor the included pre-modded files can not run.
the db_update.php require phpbb to run, therefore run this in any old version of phpbb, and after wards replace the files.
