This mod will make it posible to specify permissions to all "special pages, like MEMBERLIST, PROFILE VIEW and so on.
The permissions support USERGROUP, making this tool very powerfull

What is the code...

Postby Majorflam on Mon 24. Nov, 2003 00:59

Hi. I have installed this MOD. I want it to block certain people from viewing a page I have added (chatroom.php).

What code do I add to chatroom.php, so that only certain usergroups can veiw the page at all. If someone tries to view the page that isn't a member of the selected usergroup, they should recieve an error messgae "not authorised", and the page is not viewable to them.

Many thanks for any help provided.

Oh, I just noticed tha databse changes included changes to Index and Memberlist permissions.

I don't intend to include tha hack for these files, so I won't do the changes in the How To for these files.... is that OK?

Also, do I need to do database changes to put extra permissions on my chatroom.php page.

???

Having looked through things, and having viewed the db update with a text editor, it seems I do need to make database changes!

Oh dear, I now need to know which database update to do in order to set special permissions on my chatroom.php page.

Niels, this is a great MOD but it's not for the novice!

:(

I'm sure someone will point me in the right direction.

For the record, all I have done up to now, is execute the db update script, and made the changes in all files except memberlist.php and index.php.

Can someone help?

it's allrigh, to NOT do the changes into index.php or memberlist.php - this will only affect the permission control for these 2 pages.
so you will not be able to control permission control for these.

I will try make a general tutorial and post this as announcement inside this forum
(if a how-to is EM ready, it will mostly be bullet prof, since a machine is more picky than a human. :D)
