I need to install this mod so that I can use Shoutbox but I am confused about some things.

The instructions refer to the file db_update.php but the file included with the mod is db_extra.php -- these are the same file, right?

But my biggest confusion is when you say "put the SQL commands below here, the SQL commands listed below are only examples, substitude them with the one you need".

Can you please explain this and show an example of a fully working file? I have no idea what to do and am afraid of screwing up my database. I've installed a lot of mods but this is the first one that needs to be modified prior to running. Thanks!

yes, you are rigth, the file should be named db_update.php, this is the name I use in all other of my mods - sorry.

about the text, inside the file:
the extra permission mod, will make it posible to "control" some permission of "special pages"
like memberlist, usergroup ect...
I have in the how-to included the "special pages" index and memberlist - if you would like to control other pages, then you must also make some more changes, as this how-to only covers control over 2 pages (index and memberlist) - I did make it this way, mainly to make the how-to simple and quicker, and also to let it be more easy to see whet is needed for a page.

you do not NEED to modify the file, before installing in, but it is a option for you to do...
