Putting a POLL in the register form

Postby donnie-d on Tue 25. Nov, 2003 14:22

I would like to put a poll in the register form. Somthing like on the portal.php of ezportal.

With a poll I can see where users come from.

How do I do this?

Poudlard Hack (Questionnaire for Sorting into Groups) is not a pool but ask questions - maybe you can use it

Found an easy way, but you will replace your Location registration field. Do exacly as I say, modifying other stuff in this file will mess up your database.
Don't change referer to what you want it to say or you will get something that says Fatal Error.

Code: Select all
Copy language/lang_main.php to your desktop

On the ftp server, rename language/lang_main.php
to:
language/lang_main.php.backup

Open language/lang_main.php from your desktop

Find:
$lang['Location'] = 'Location';

Change:
$lang['Location'] = 'Location';
to:
$lang['Location'] = 'Referer';

Save and close your files

If this didn't work:
in ftp, delete language/lang_main.php then renane language/lang_main.php.backup to language/lang_main.php

I hope this helps

To use this press Memberlist at the top of your forum. Uder the location field, you should see referers.

If you don't have an error, but you didn't get what you want, tell me because I might need to modify the language file that has variables that have stuff like: {L_Location} instead.
