You may take a look at this mod
http://mods.db9.dk/viewforum.php?f=68

it will allow you to create a list of emails /usernames and import these - the mod does send out a welcome email including the password and username
(if a how-to is EM ready, it will mostly be bullet prof, since a machine is more picky than a human. :D)
